Paul Timothy 'Lacius' Legates, 44

GREENWOOD - Paul Timothy "Lacius" Legates, of Greenwood, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at his home. He was 44.

Mr. Legates was born Dec. 9, 1963, in Milford, son of the late George Legates and Eunice Morgan Hughes.

Paul worked for Mesick & Gray Construction in Bridgeville for about 25 years.

He enjoyed playing with his nieces, watching cartoons, playing basketball, going fishing and taking evening rides.

Paul was proud of being a 1978 state wrestling champion for Woodbridge High School.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Legates.

He is survived by six siblings and their spouses, George and Thelma Legates of Houston, Tony and Sandy Legates of Greenwood, David and Rhonda Legates of Harrington, Cindy and Norman Goldsborough of Greenwood, Theresa and John Paul of Georgia and Brian Legates of Georgia; a stepfather, Ronald Hughes of Greenwood; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St., Greenwood.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
