DELMAR - Paul F. Wieldand of Delmar, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 17, 2007, in his home. He was 82.

Mr. Wieland was born Feb. 28, 1925 in Berkshire, N.Y., son of the late Gebhard "Gus" and Elisa Bruen Wieland.

He worked several years as a brakeman on the railroad, before owning Wieland Mobile Court. He enjoyed his work at the trailer park and also worked selling trailers and automobiles. More than 30 years ago, he earned his pilot's license and loved flying his single engine planes.

He was self taught in music and loved to entertain family and friends by playing the accordion, harmonica, organ and piano. He was an animal lover and was especially fond of his dog, Pete.

Mr Wieland was a member of St. George's United Methodist Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, Salisbury and the Elks Lodge, Salisbury.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four children, Harold Wieland, Paul Daniel Wieland, Jennifer Dawson and Louie Wieland.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverlyn J. Wieland; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Pauline and Tony Ross and Susan and Al Ross, all of Delmar; two stepdaughters, Sharon Maile and her husband, Charles of Delmar and Marilyn Moore of Bethel; a stepson, Richard Lynch and his wife, LouAnn of Victor, N.Y.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Dempsey of New Jersey and Barbara Kirby of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove St., Delmar, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Delmar.

Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 201 Dupont Highway, Millsboro, DE 19966.
