Paul Eugene Dixon Sr.

GOLDSBORO - Paul Eugene Dixon, Sr., 72, from Goldsboro, went home to be with his Lord on Sept. 6, 2011, after a long illness. He was born Nov. 25, 1938, to the late John F. Dixon Sr. and Violet Sego Dixon. He attended Greensboro High School. He retired from George & Lynch Inc. after 38 years. He was an active member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Henderson, Md. He enjoyed building and working with his hands, spending time camping in the mountains with his family and going to church. He loved to sing while working. He is survived by his wife, Alice Sharpnack Dixon of Goldsboro; daughters, Mary Cannon and Patty Pote and husband John, all of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Curtis Satterfield and wife Jessa, Stephen Willey, Andrew, Michael, and Melissa Pote; brothers and sisters, Esther Walker, John Dixon, Jr., Ruth Hickman, David Dixon, Hazel Dill, Raymond Dixon, Roy Dixon, Anna Carlisle, Ralph Dixon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Eugene Dixon Jr. A visitation will be held at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, Md., on Sept. 11, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Henderson, Md. Interment will follow at Greensboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice House, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
