DOVER - Our beautiful, loving mother passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 10, 2018, from the effects of a severe stroke she suffered three years ago. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Durant of Bombay, N.Y.
A strong, intelligent, loving, and giving woman, she will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind her brother, Louis Durant Sr., sister, Nancy Hynes, daughter, Barbara "Barbi" Troxell, Michael Troxell, and her grandchildren, Adam and Rachel Christopher. Patricia was happily married to retired USAF Tech Sergeant Lawrence Ernest Troxell for 48 years before he sadly passed away on March 14, 2015 after a long illness.
"Pat", as she was known to her friends and co-workers, was employed as a Registered Nurse at Kent General Hospital from 1979 until retiring as an Emergency Room nurse in 2007. Previously, she provided nursing care throughout the world while following her husband's various duty assignments.
A member of Dover's Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pat enjoyed gardening, traveling - especially in her bright red Ford Mustang, reading, and; most of all, spoiling her two grandchildren and "Biscuit", her Pomeranian.
Her family and caregiver, Miss Charlotte Dennis, celebrated Pat's life at a private dinner memorial shortly after her passing.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a generous donation to the wonderful Meals on Wheels Program at the Kent County Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Avenue, Dover, DE 19904 / (302)-734-1200.
