Mr. Holloman was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Belltown, son of the late William Lee and Beatrice Holloman.
He attended elementary school in Belltown, junior high in Lewes and high school at William. C. Jason Comprehensive High School, Georgetown.
After graduation, Mr. Holloman worked several jobs and then joined the Army Reserves. For basic training he was stationed with Monroe Brittingham, his best friend at the time, in Fort Sill, Okla.
Soon thereafter, he was taught trucking by his cousin, "Peewee," and made it his life"s work. After being diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in January 2006, he retired from his job at Barry Fox Trucking, Easton, which he held for more than 40 years.
When Mr. Holloman was a child, he looked forward to becoming a minister and forced his sister and brothers to "play church" on numerous occasions. The Bible remained his favorite companion and he loved to recite and discuss various segments of the Bible with his family and friends.
