Panayotis 'Pete' Theodorakos

DOVER - Panayotis "Pete" Theodorakos died late Saturday evening, June 6, 2009, at Kent-General Hospital. He was born in Mani, Greece, on Feb. 28, 1936, the son of the late Petros and Stamatoula Bathrellos Theodorakos. He pursued a twenty year career as a police officer. He came to this country in 1975 and in 1977 he opened the first Betsy Ross Pizza. He continued to build and operate his businesses with his wife and children until his passing. He was a dedicated, hard-working man. Pete was an incredibly passionate and charismatic man, a quality which surely will not be forgotten by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed. He took great pleasure in spending time with his granddaughter, Alexis. Pete is survived by his wife of 31 years, Katherine Theodorakos; four children, Petros, Stacy, Nick, and Eleni Theodorakos; two grandchildren, Alexis and Abby; his brother, George and his wife Stacy Theodorakos, and their children, Petros, Athena, and Margarita Theodorakos. He was preceded in death by his sister who died in 1984, Margarita Theodorakos. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Thursday, June 11, at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, where friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
