Pamela (Beebe) Peet, 74
CLAYTON - Pamela (Beebe) Peet, of Clayton, formerly of Middletown, N.Y., passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 74.
Mrs. Peet was born April 19, 1934, in Boston, daughter of the late Marcus and Lillian (Oakley) Beebe.
She graduated from St. Timothy's School in Maryland.
Mrs. Peet was a legendary field trial dog trainer and a member of the Diamond State German Shorthair Pointer Club and the Mason-Dixon Shorthair Pointer Club.
She enjoyed competing in field trials, horseback riding, swimming, playing bridge and bowling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Caroline Peet; her twin brother, Decius Beebe; her older brother, Marcus Beebe; and her sister, Joanne Beebe.
She is survived by four children, Timothy Peet of Longmeadow, Mass., Susan Shockley of Clayton, Janet Grosskreuz of Highland Lakes, N.J., and Cynthia Hornor of Ellicott City, Md.; three sisters, Janet Taber of Pittsburgh, Dianna Richardson of Prides Crossing, Mass., and Marcia Fenn of Blue Hill, Maine; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.
Burial will be in Howells (N.Y.) Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Bird Dog Foundation, 505 Highway 57, Grand Junction, TN 38039; or to The Children's Hospital of Boston, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
