Otha H. Furniss Sr.

Furniss, Sr., 87 LEWES - Otha H. "Bozie" Furniss, Sr. passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at home. He was born in Saxis, Va., son of the late Charles Elwood and Virginia (West) Furniss. From 1971-1986 he owned and operated Bozie's Produce. Bozie was a member of Jefferson Lodge #15 A.F. & A.M. He was an Army veteran, honorably discharged, in 1944 as a Private with Company D in the 191st. Infantry Training Battalion. In addition to his parents, Bozie is preceded in death by a son, Otha H. "Buddy" Furniss, Jr. He is survived by two children, Jeany Argo and husband Sam, of Milton and Dale Furniss and wife Connie, of Lewes; five grandchildren, Amy Jones and husband Finley III, Stefani Larson and husband Chip, Dale Furniss Street, Travis Furniss and Kyle Furniss and wife Larissa; five great-grandchildren, Emmy Jones, Finley Jones IV, Isaiah Street Williams, Allen Larson IV and Laila Furniss; a special friend, Lorraine Layton; and many very special friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton. Flowers are accepted, or contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, De 19963.
