Oscar T. Roberts Jr.

HARRINGTON - Oscar T. (Bob) Roberts Jr., 86, of Harrington, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20 2011 at home. Mr. Roberts was born in Pocomoke City, Md., the son of the late Oscar T. Roberts Sr. and Marie (Lang) Roberts. He was a graduate of the University of Delaware. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. He worked as a salesman in the pharmaceutical industry until retirement in 1985. He loved to play golf as well as playing cards with friends, woodworking, fishing and traveling. He loved to watch the many birds around his house. Oscar was also an avid reader. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris; a son, Morgan T. (Terry) Roberts; two daughters, Mary Lou Seifert and Marie Eileen Roberts; one sister, Evelyn Richards, of Salt Lake City, Utah; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters. A Celebration of the Life of Oscar will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 63 Commerce St., Harrington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the "Raise the Roof" fund, c/o Trinity United Methodist Church, 63 Commerce Street, Harrington, DE 19952. Arrangements by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington.
