HARTLY - Oscar Lee Camp Jr. of Hartly, Delaware went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2015. He was 69 years old. Oscar was born on February 14, 1946, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. Oscar proudly served his country in the United States Navy, beginning his career as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Aircraft Handler), at the age of 17. After 4 dedicated years at sea, he worked as a coal miner in the Westland Mines. Later he was employed with the USDA, eventually retiring from his position as a Federal Foods Inspector. Oscar was a longtime member of Calvary Assembly of God, serving as a volunteer in many capacities. He enjoyed his ministry working with the youth; as an usher; and in the men's choir. He also took great pride preparing and serving Thanksgiving meals for those in the community. He had a great love for his dogs, Peaches and Max who have gone before him; and Lucy. In his spare time he liked searching out flea markets, hunting, and especially fishing. He will always be remembered for his loving, caring, and generous nature. Oscar leaves behind his loving wife, Susan of 31 years; children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2015, at Calvary Assembly of God, 1141 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware 19901. In lieu of flowers contributions in Oscar's honor can be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
