SEAFORD - Oscar Charles Hockenberry Jr of Seaford died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 79.
Mr. Hockenberry was born in Lock Haven, Pa., son of the late Oscar C. Sr. and Kathryn (Killinger) Hockenberry.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was a salesman for Montgomery Ward, Lock Haven.
Mr. Hockenberry was a member of Virgil Wilson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4961, Seaford, the American Legion Post 4, Seaford, the Christian Church, Seaford and the Lock Haven First Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam (Overton) Hockenberry; a son, David C. Hockenberry of Seaford; two daughters, Bonny J. Mears of Boston and Carol A. Duff of Lock Haven; three brothers, James Hockenberry of Seaford, Robert Hockenberry of Towanda, Pa., and Eugene Hockenberry of Dillsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Lois Guthrie of Braintree, Mass., and Edith Sherman of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Christian Church, Seaford; and 11 a.m. Friday in the First Church of Christ, Lock Haven.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Christian Church of Seaford, Del. 13, Seaford, DE 19973; or the First Church of Christ, Water and Vesper Streets, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
