The Delaware Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Board has announced the start of its “The Importance of Becoming an Organ and Tissue Donor” Video Contest, with up to $5,000 in scholarships available to high school students.
The board funds the video competition to raise awareness among young people about organ and tissue donation.
The contest is open to Delaware high school students, who must create a one- to two-minute public service announcement video. As part of their entry, students are encouraged to interview a transplant patient or organ recipient.
The deadline for entries, which will be judged on creativity, accuracy and positive messaging, is April 21. Winners in each county will receive $1,000 first-place scholarships or $500 second-place scholarships.
