GEORGETOWN - Olivia M. Jones of Georgetown died of natural causes Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in Harrison House Nursing Home, Georgetown. She was 90.
Mrs. Jones was the matriarch of a very large family. She was mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and great-great-great-grandmother and much more to many. Her family was her pride and joy, and she instilled the values of Christ in all of her offspring.
For many years, she worked as a laborer for Cargill Inc., retiring as a senior companion from Sussex County Community Action.
Mrs. Jones was a devout Christian who loved to serve the Lord with all of her heart and soul. She was a member of The Solid Rock Holiness Church, Ellendale, where she was the mother of the church, under the pastorship of her son, the Rev. Augustus Mann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezekiel Jones; and two sons, Ernest Mann and Lynwood Mann.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, George Mann Sr., the Rev. Augustus and Henrietta Mann and Leroy Sr. and Winnie Mann, all of Georgetown, and Jerry and Pat Mann of Laurel; a daughter and a son-in-law, Mary and Ollie Harris of Seaford; a daughter-in-law, Edna Mann of Georgetown; 65 grandchildren, including De'Borah Royal, whom she raised; 137 great-grandchildren, including Aaron Jarmon, whom she raised; 32 great-great-grandchildren; over 55 great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Pentecostal Church of God, 9163 Greentop Road, Lincoln, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Bishop Marion L. Hendricks will officiate and deliver the eulogy.
Burial will be in Mount Zion AME Church Cemetery, Ellendale.
Arrangements by Deborah E. Harris-Nock Funeral Services, Greenwood.
