Norma Jean Eisler

FREDERICA - Norma Jean Eisler, 79, of Frederica, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was born on Nov. 24, 1932, in Greenville, Ill., to the late Fred and Ruth Wonack Roby. Norma will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. Norma studied nursing at Delaware and Community College and had over 30 years in the field of nursing. She retired in 1994. Her favorite past time was crocheting blankets for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her partner, Harley Murphy; brothers, Emmi Roby and Cliford Roby; sons, Santo Anzonio Merillo, John Rober, and Jackie Merillo; and grandson, John Robert Merillo. She is survived by sister, Catherine Smith; sons, Carlo Merillo Jr. and Joseph Merillo; four grandchildren she raised as her own, Brook Merillo, Shawn Merillo, Sandy Eisler, and Jean Marie Eisler; her remaining grandchildren, Natasha Dicus, Stephen Merillo, Carlo Merillo III, and Stephanie Merillo; and several beloved great-grandchildren. Services will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
