
GALENA, Md. - Nora Shirley Doll passed away on March 26, 2018 in Shore Medical Center, Chestertown.
Mrs. Doll was born on March 13, 1939, daughter of the late Lee and Elsie Powell Sweetman. She was raised in Golts and was a graduate of Galena High School. She had worked for Leeds Travelware, Tidewater Publishing and Campbell Soup where she met her future husband. For 20 years they lived in Virginia, returning to Galena in 1997. Mrs. Doll loved her family, music and dancing and enjoyed sewing.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Leonard Ray Doll; three brothers, Thomas, Douglas and Lee Sweetman; and a sister, Leona Daubert.
Mrs. Doll is survived by her children, Vickie Walters of Baltimore, Md., David Doll and Kimberly Skelley (Sean) all of Millington; two brothers, Gene Sweetman and Bill Sweetman both of Golts; five sisters, Betty Clough of Earleville, Md., Madeline Joines and Dottie Pitcher both of Townsend, Kathy Sweetman of Smyrna and Debbie Lewis of Golts; six grandchildren, Joshua Skelley, Phillip Walters, Alison Markey (Chris), Breanna Doll, Mitchell Doll (Emma) and Jordan Doll; and three great-grandchildren, Kenton Doll, Forrest Doll and Nora Markey.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, Md. where funeral service will begin at 1 p.m.
Burial will be held privately in Townsend Cemetery.
