Noland Lester Henry Sr. of San Diego passed away suddenly Friday, May 4, 2007, in his home. He was 51.

Born Oct. 27, 1955, in Wilmington, he was the son of Roland L. Henry and the late Alice M. Henry.

Noland was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School and Wilmington College in New Castle. He received his bachelor's degree in business and computer science.

He moved to Wilmington, where he was employed by Dupont as a data entry supervisor for 18 years. He was also a model for Ford Modeling Services for four years. He left Wilmington to pursue a consultant business for Alzheimer's disease clients.

Noland enjoyed all sports, and played on the football and basketball teams for Caesar Rodney High School. He enjoy spending time with his son, playing golf, tee ball, soccer and video games.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice M. Henry, in 1991; his paternal grandparents, Oscar Henry and Bessie Nottingham; and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Elise Garnett.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, June B. Henry; a son, Nolan L. Henry Jr. of San Diego; two brothers, James L. Garnett (Bernice) of Wilmington and Jermaine L. Henry (Francine) of Dover; three sisters, Brenda J. Hicks (Tyrone) of Dover, Sandra J. Henry (Dwayne) of Dover and Yolanda J. Jones (Richard) of Dover; five nieces; five nephews; eight great-nephews; one great-niece; a very special friend of the family, Dempsey C. Bordley; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover. There will be a public viewing two hours prior to service. Burial will be private.
