Nolan Quillen Sylvester

FELTON, Del. - Nolan Quillen Sylvester, of Felton, died on Sunday, January 1, 2012, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was born on January 11, 1924, in Felton to the late Harold and Ruth Elizabeth Quillen Sylvester. Mr. Sylvester was a dairy and grain farmer. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and fishing and was a member of the former Greensboro Redman's Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Sylvester. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Lee Young Sylvester; three sons, Ronald Sylvester of Felton, Jerry Sylvester of Felton, and David Sylvester of Newark; three daughters, Lea Ann Sylvester, Kay Sylvester and Melissa Southerland all of Felton; three sisters, Page Brothers of Felton, Jane Palmatory of Ingleside, Md, and Marylou Cooper of Felton; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012, in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W Sunset Ave, Greensboro, MD. The visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Greensboro Cemetery. The family suggests donations to be made to the Delaware Hospice of Milford, 100 Patriots Way; Milford, DE 19963. Condolences to the family may be made at www.fleegleandhelfenbein.com.
