Nicholas R. "Nick" Arches, 51

TOWNSEND - Nicholas R. "Nick" Arches of Townsend passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 51.

Mr. Arches was born Oct. 28, 1955, in Cecil County, Md., son of Nick and Patricia (Schools) Arches.

He was a 1973 graduate of Northeast High School.

Mr. Arches was employed with Chrysler Corp. in Newark, for 28 years in skilled trades as a millwright.

He was an avid sportsman during his high school career with several varsity honors. He continued as a ball player on multiple softball teams over the past 20 years.

He loved his motorcycles and boating with his first mate, Duchess, the family dog.

Mr. Arches will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Theresa (Seaver) Arches; his children, Aimee Kegley, Jesse Kegley and Ryan Arches, all of Townsend; three sisters, Evelyn Kennedy and her husband, David of Elk Mills, Md., Diane Jones and her husband, Edward of Earlville, Md. and Pam Turner and her companion, Rudy Ribey of Abbington, Md.; along with nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
