SEAFORD - Nicholas Ciavarella, formerly of New York died on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Nicholas retired from the Department of Parks in New York City, he was an Army veteran of the Korean war, was a volunteer at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and the Delaware State Fair for many years. He was also a member of the Garden Club in Seaford. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rita Ciavarella; two daughters, Geraldine Blum (Gary) and Lynn Reyes; two grandchildren, Robert Blum (Kelly) and Breanna Reyes; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Blum and Logan Blum; a brother, Frank Ciavarella; and two sisters, Anna Marie Morabito and Frances Campanella (Vincent). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 532 Stein Hwy, Seaford. Friends may call at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Dr, #101, Newark, DE 19713.
