Nelson Herman Clough SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - The Eastern shore, today is mourning the passing of a beloved, unique and generous soul who passed from this life during the early evening hours on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2009. A loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle (and Gumshoe), Nelson H. "Dickie" Clough will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends and those that knew him. Mr. Clough was born near Sudlersville, the son of the late Elmer and Anna Lowman Clough. He was 85. Mr. Clough worked for the Delmarva Power Company for 30 years serving as a lineman, troubleshooter and serviceman in his career. He retired in 1983. During World War II, Mr. Clough served his country proudly in the D Company 83rd. Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Armored Division, of the United States Army. He was a member of the Hunters of Hounds club and for many years enjoyed hunting his fox hounds and most recently his rabbit dogs. Mr. Clough also enjoyed racing horses and ponies, he loved to garden and share his produce with family and friends. Mr. Clough also could be found for many years crabbing and selling them through out the town and county. The love of his family was evident and enjoyed spending time with all his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and didn't meet a person that did not become his friend. He loved to communicate with anyone that would spend a few moments talking. He had a special place in his heart for the times that he and his nephew Charles "Buck" Clough Jr. spent together hunting. Buck died this past April. Mr. Clough enjoyed attending meetings and especially conventions in Ocean City. Mr. Clough is survived by his wife of 62yrs.
