Naomi J. Hogan, 74
MILFORD - Naomi J. Hogan passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the Bayhealth-Sussex Campus. She was born in West Grove, Pa., to the late, Warren and Ethel Porter, the fourth of six children.
Naomi graduated from Avon Grove High School in 1964. She met her future husband Marty, in June of 1965 at a beach party at Rehoboth Beach, Del. They married May 20, 1966 and had over 54 years together.
Naomi was fun loving, with a great smile and an infectious laugh. In her earlier years, she would travel far and wide with her girlfriend, Shirley Rothermel, to play Bingo and in their later years, they enjoyed the Harrington Slots. She also loved spending time with her family at the beach. She was a great cook, her sweet potato and apple pies were the absolute best. She was a bright light who brought love and laughter to friends and family alike. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Porter.
Naomi is survived by her husband, Martin Hogan of Milford; daughter, Kimberly Hogan of Felton; sons, Mark (Cindy) Hogan of Greenwood, Michael (Jennifer) Hogan of Harrington; grand-daughters, who she loved dearly and was extremely proud of, Emily Hogan, Taylor Hogan, and Erin Hogan; sister and best friend, Shirley VanSant; brothers, Warren (Alice) Porter Jr., Donald (Phyllis) Porter, David (Elle) Porter; a special niece, Denise (Tom) Talley and their children - Elisha Deni and Megan Monte; nephew, Darren (Kim) VanSant and their children - Kara, Alyssa, Laura; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Services for Naomi will be on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, at 1 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will take place starting at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at the Milford Community Cemetery immediately after the service. We are adhering to the CDC and Delaware guidelines of occupancy limits, social distancing, and masks.
