Nancy Powell Kinnamon, previously of Dover, Del. and Sudlersville, Md. passed away Tuesday, Dec 15, 2020 at Brightview Assisted Living in Perry Hall, Md.
Mrs. Kinnamon was born Jan 13, 1926 in Sudlersville, Md., the daughter of the late Luther Powell and Sadie "Williams" Powell. Nancy was a 1943 graduate of Sudlersville High School. She continued her education and received her Associates Degree from Wesley College in 1945. She married the late William M. "Bill" Kinnamon in 1950 and the two started their life together. Over the years, Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for several companies in Sudlersville and ended her career working with Bill at S.G. Williams & Bros., where they both retired in 2002. She had been an active member of Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church, serving as financial secretary for many years. Nancy enjoyed cooking and baking, reading, watching the Orioles, and traveling the world including Switzerland, Austria, Scotland, Hong Kong, China, Russia, Scandinavia to name a few, as well as much of the U.S. via road trips with Bill and her daughters. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren at her vacation home in Bethany Beach, Del.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathryn Ann "Kay" Kinnamon and Sue Ellen Kirch; one grandchild, James Kenton; and siblings, Kathleen Baughan, Franklin Powell, William Powell, Hildred Griffeth, Elizabeth "Betty" Simpler and Eleanor Brodeur.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Potter (Patrick) of Kingsville, Md.; grandchildren, Jonathan Kirch (Sandra) of Newark, Del., Jennifer Potter of Baltimore, Md., Abigail Potter of Kingsville, Md., Christopher Potter of Kingsville, Md.; great grandchildren, Thomas and Mathew Kirch; one sister, Helen Marsellas; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020 from 12 - 1 p.m. at Fellows Family Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, Md. Services began at 1 p.m. followed by interment in Sudlersville Cemetery in Sudlersville, Md.
