MILTON - Nancy M. Richards passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018. Nancy attended Goldey Beacom where she studied business. She was the bookkeeper for many years with her mother and step-father, Mary McCabe Talley and Harlon H. Talley, Jr., at their family business, Sea View Beach Shoppe. Their first location was in Fenwick Island, which also served as the town post office, which Nancy attended to as well. Later they expanded to additional locations in the resort area. Later in life she enjoyed farming with her husband, gardening and flowers. Nancy was also a faithful lifetime member of White's Chapel UM Church. Nancy was a talented and tasteful decorator. She always loved having a beautiful home and yard. Nancy also loved animals and always desired to do good for homeless pets. She dearly loved her furry daughter, a rescue named Molly. In addition to her love for animals, she had a love for entertaining. She, along with her late husband Jake, looked forward to and enjoyed time spent with the couples club. They especially loved the times it was their turn to entertain friends and guests in their home. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore W. "Jake" Richards; her mother, Mary McCabe Talley; her father, Rollin P. McCabe, Sr.; two brothers, Rollin P. McCabe, Jr. and Robert McCabe; a sister, Janice Murphy; a sister-in-law, Orna Lowe; and a brother-in-law, Harrison Richardson. She is survived by her step-father, Harlon H. Talley, Jr.; a niece, Diane Lawhead and husband Bill and their family, whom enjoyed special times and great memories with Aunt Nancy; sisters-in-law, Jean Richardson and Dorothy Dodd and her husband David; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved Nancy dearly. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton where a time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in White's Chapel UMC Cemetery.
