GEORGETOWN - Nancy Lillian Slaight Bell, a resident of Georgetown since 1973, formerly of Michigan, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was 83. Nancy was born and raised in Geneseo, N.Y., the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Lillian E. (Redmond) Slaight. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed tracking her genealogy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clifford A.Bell in 2006; two brothers, Bill Slaight and John Slaight; and a sister, Mary Streamer. She is survived by her six children, Barbara Bonner and her husband, Duane of Michigan, Michael Bell and his wife Charlotte of California, Kim Haynie and her husband Tom of North Carolina, Nora Serman and her husband Kyle of Georgetown, Patti Atkins and her husband Scott of Kansas, and Katherine Bell of Georgetown, Sisters, Helen Ward of New Jersey, Betty Steur of New York; brother, Walt Slaight and wife Jerry of Arizona; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jackie Amor of New Jersey; a special loving niece, Julia Ingraham and her husband Tom of New York; and numerous, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be noon, Thursday, March 22, 2012, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call Thursday after 11 a.m. Interment will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
