Nancy Lee Baird, 61

FELTON - Nancy Lee Baird of Felton died Monday, June 11, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 61.

Mrs. Baird was born in Dover, daughter of the late Oliver and Alice Marie Christopher.

She was a homemaker and gifted seamstress who could make just about anything.

Mrs. Baird loved to raise and grow her many flowers, play games on her computer and go to the slots.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who loved to spoil her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mate to "Hoppy," and she lived her life to the fullest.

Mrs. Baird was a member of the Harvest Years Senior Center of Camden and the Modern Maturity Center of Dover.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Billings.

She is survived by her lifelong companion, Lewis "Hoppy" Murphy Jr.; her sons, Abner D. "Turtle" Baird III and Kenneth J. Baird, both of Harrington; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Michael Griffith of Felton; a brother, Glenn Billings of Felton; and her grandchildren, Joseph D. Baird and Nicole Griffith.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
