Nancy Catherine Lucas, 61
BEL AIR, Md. - Nancy Catherine Lucas, of Bel Air, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation Center, Bel Air. She was 61.
She was born in Chestertown on Sept. 3, 1946, to Calvin and Frances (Biddle) Lucas of Chestertown.
Ms. Lucas graduated from Sudlersville High School class of 1964.
She worked with Natural Resources for the state of Maryland for 20 some years and Bel Air Auto Auction until she was taken with ill health.
Ms. Lucas was a member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 652 Auxiliary.
She loved all sports, NASCAR and bowling.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Jimmy Lucas and his wife Joanne of Chestertown; a niece, Trish Rudolfs and her husband John and their two sons, Garrett and Mason of Severna Park; two aunts, Ethel Everett of Chestertown, and Dorris Roland of Clayton, Del.; a lot of cousins whom she had a lot of fun with; and a lot of friends she went to school and worked with who were dear to her.
She was so lucky to have wonderful friends and caregivers, as Lisa and John Maffei, who helped her from the beginning of her illness until the very end. She was also grateful to wonderful friends Sue Mahanes and her nurse Debbie Baker.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery.
