Mountaire recently doled out $2,500 scholarships to several area students.

Children and grandchildren of employees, growers and grain producers were eligible. Winners will be invited to an event later this summer to receive certificates and be recognized for their efforts.

Mountaire awards several scholarships to area students

MILLSBORO — Mountaire recently doled out $2,500 scholarships to several area students.

Children and grandchildren of employees, growers and grain producers were eligible. Winners will be invited to an event later this summer to receive certificates and be recognized for their efforts.

The awardees were:

  • Annabeth Leigh Hill will attend Chesapeake College to study agriculture. Her father, Ronald Rogala, is a broiler grower for the Millsboro location.
  • Colin Hopper will attend Virginia Tech to study agribusiness. His father, James C. Hopper, is a broiler grower for the Millsboro location.
  • Ryan Baker will attend Lehigh University to study mechanical engineering. His father, Mark Baker, is a grain producer for the Millsboro location.
  • Callie Trexler is a sophomore at Catawba College with an undecided major. Her father, Darrin Trexler, is a grain producer.
  • Ethan Patey is a sophomore at Delaware Technical Community College, studying agribusiness management. His grandfather, Howard Webb, is a grain producer.
  • Tawney Nelson will attend East Carolina University to study nursing. Her father, Jamie Nelson, is a grain producer.
  • Caleb Floyd is a junior at James Madison University, studying business management. His father, William Floyd, is a grain merchandising manager.
  • Alexis Buckley is a sophomore at Wilson College, studying veterinary nursing. Her father, Paul Buckley, works in information technology, and her mother, Jennifer Buckley, works in accounting in Millsboro.
  • Zackary Tidabock will attend The University of Tampa to study finance. His mother, Angela Schweiger, works in information technology in Millsboro.
  • Delaney Bennett will attend Salisbury University to study dental hygiene. Her father, Darrell Bennett, works in sales in Millsboro.
  • David Choi is a junior at the University of Virginia, studying computer science. His father, Hyung Choi, is a broiler grower for the Selbyville location.
  • Autumn Drew will attend Wor-Wic Community College to study nursing. Her parents are broiler growers for the Selbyville location.
  • Mindy Blevins is a junior at Wilmington University, studying organizational leadership. Her father, Charles Blevins, is the feed mill superintendent in Frankford.
  • Andersen Herman is a junior at Salisbury University, studying chemistry. His mother, Gertha Herman Francois, works in the tray pack department in Selbyville.
  • Sofia Lopez will attend the University of Delaware to study engineering. Her father, Federico Lopez, is the shipping manager in Selbyville.
  • Jillian Collins will attend Delaware Valley University to study animal science. Her father, Scott Collins, leads our security team in Selbyville.
  • Camille Bello is a junior at the University of Delaware, studying health behavior science. Her mother, Lily Bello, works in purchasing in Selbyville.
