SEAFORD - Monica J. Matthews Perkins passed away Feb. 9, 2017, at her home. Monica was born Aug. 30, 1958, in Seaford, the daughter of the late James and Rosena Matthews. She received her education from Seaford Senior High School in the graduating class of 1976. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Bonnie Gregory; and brother, Larry Gaines. She is survived by her husband, Dwight Perkins, of Seaford; four sons, Andre (Felicia) Matthews and Adrian Matthews, of Seaford, Aaron Matthews, of Georgetown, Dwight (Maria) Perkins, Jr., of Lewes; four daughters, Dweena (Jose) Santiago, of Milford, Katina (Donnell) Custis, of Salisbury, Md., Alicia (Javier) Osorio, of Laurel, Dorothy Perkins, of Lewes; 39 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Gary (Cliffonia) Gaines and Sherwood Sampson, of Seaford, Donald (Denise) Gaines and Warren Gaines, of Newark; two sisters, Jamasine Matthews, of Seaford, and Mary Helen Jenkins, of Baltimore, Md. Services will be held at Citadel of Hope Deliverance Ministries, Inc., 25371 Honeysuckle Drive, Seaford, DE 19973. Viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with funeral starting at 1 p.m.
