Mohinder Partap Singh, 84

QUEENS, N.Y. - Mohinder Partap Singh, of Queens, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. He was 84. Mr. Singh was born on March 10, 1924, in Punjab, India, to the late Nihal Singh and Joginder Kour. He was a teacher of languages and social sciences in India. Mr. Singh worked at Queens Hospital Center in New York City after his arrival in the United States in 1970. He was fluent in 7 languages and enjoyed traveling, music, writing, political discussions and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Dr. Gurmeet Singh and his daughter-in-law Shiret of Wilmington, Del.; two grandchildren, Sophia and Madeline Singh; and a brother, Harinder Singh of Queens.
