Minister Marian I. Penn

DOVER - Minister Marian I. Penn born March 2, 1937, the daughter of the late Olive and Frank Williams, departed this life on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 after a long illness. Minister Penn received her elementary and secondary education in the public schools of Dover. She also attended Delaware State University in Dover. Minister Penn was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God under the late Bishop B. L. Washington and a honorary member of Redemption Church of the Living God under Bishop Gilbert Curry. Minister Penn was a founding member of the Delaware Chapter of Operation PUSH. She was very civic minded and worked with various community projects such as feeding and sheltering the homeless and the Summer Lunch Program, just to name a few. She also hosted her own talk show called "Fatima's Corner". She was a former member of Wilmington Chester Mass Choir, Mt. Carmel Church Choir and the Eastern Shore Choir. Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God 117 N. West St. Dover, DE. www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com
