
Milton Antonio Feliberty Acevedo, age 73, of Dover passed away, Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Kent General Hospital.
Milton was born on February 11, 1951 in San German, Puerto Rico to the late Angel Feliberty and Irma Acevedo Vivas.
At the age of 8, his family moved to New York City, where he grew up. At age 18, he enlisted in the United States Army. While serving, he rose to the ranks of Drill SGT; Chief Warrant Officer; USA Separation Transfer Point, Oakland Army Base, Chief Warrant Officer 2; Personnel Service Center, Presidio, San Francisco, Chief Warrant Officer 3; Personnel Service Center, HQ CO, APG, MD, Assistant Director for Military Personnel Adjutant General. While serving, he completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Columbia College. He was deployed to serve in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait during Operation Enduring Freedom and The Gulf War. Milton served 20 years in the Army receiving over 20 awards including the Purple Heart, Meritorious Service, Army Commendation, Army Achievement, and Good Conduct. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 in 1991.
After his military career he worked for Amtrak in Aberdeen, MD as a station manager. He trained as a police officer with the Maryland Transportation Authority and worked on Governor Schaefer's Office Protection Detail. He transferred to the Aberdeen, MD Police Department where he spent many years before retiring. After his retirement, he worked for Human Resources at both Perry Point, Maryland and Elsmere, Delaware Veterans Centers.
He enjoyed fishing and going out on his little boat. Milton was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover. He enjoyed membership in The Knights of Columbus, Catholic War Veterans, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Fraternal Order of Police of Maryland and Delaware for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alicia Slatwinski Feliberty of Dover; daughters, Adina and Liana Feliberty both of Dover; granddaughter, Gabrielle Feliberty of Dover; brother, Jaime Feliberty and nephew Heru Gunopawiro of New York City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, DE. A viewing will be held from 5-7 Monday evening, September 16, 2024 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover, DE. Interment will be at 2:00 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE following the Mass.
