Mildred Banks Starks, 86 CAMDEN, N.J. - Mildred Banks Starks died in her home in Camden after a prolonged illness on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. She was 86. She was born in Seaford, Del., on Aug. 8, 1921. She was educated in the Seaford School System. Mildred married Robert Starks of Camden in 1953 and moved to Camden where she worked for a lamp shade company and as a domestic worker. She loved family gatherings, was quite a cook, and liked to travel especially the weekend trips to the Delaware/Maryland seashores she and Bobby made. While in Seaford, Mildred attended the John Wesley United Methodist Church with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Starks of 50 years; her mother, Lettie Cannon; and her sisters, Anna Mae Stratton, Alberta Collins, and Virginia Anderson. Her memories will be cherished by his sister, Rose Jacobs of Seaford; brother, Robert "Bobby" Banks of Laurel, Del.; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be private. Arrangements by Carl Miller Funeral Home, Camden.
