
MAGNOLIA - Mildred Aletha Harrison passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Capitol Nursing Home.
Mrs. Harrison was born Jan. 10, 1929 in Manhattan, N.Y. to the late Ethel Bert Knight and Mable Russell Simmons Knight, and spent most of her life in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mildred is known for being a devoted mother and grandmother and the rock of the family with an open door, not only for her family, but for everyone who came in contact with her. Mildred loved being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed playing her games, puzzles, cards, cooking and dancing. Her heart was open to anyone who needed her. Everyone would always find their way to her house. She was so pleasant to be around full of life and laughter.
Mildred Harrison was a member of the Modern Maturity Center in Dover and attended Calvary Assembly of God Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harrison; daughter Patricia; son, David Jr.; and granddaughter, Kahjuanda.
She is survived by her daughter, Donzella France and her son-in-law Larry; son, Albert Knight; step-daughters, Jean, Cynthia; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She be missed greatly by her family and friends.
We released our mother back into the hands of our Heavenly Father.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will private.
