Michelene T. "Mickey" Davis, 72

GOLTS, Md. - Michelene T. "Mickey" Davis of Golts went to be with her Lord Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was 72.

Born April 22, 1934, in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Lasher) and Nathan Plass.

She was a resident of Delaware for 53 years.

In the 1960s, she served in the Delaware Legislature as assistant chief of clerk of the House of Representatives, a position she was proud to hold. For 20 years she devoted her career to nursing.

Mrs. Davis loved gardening, reading, traveling and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and involved in Hope Keepers and the Old Ladies Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Austin E. Davis; a son, Michael; two grandsons; and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a devoted daughter and a son-in-law, Kim and David Yoder of Golts; a loving son, Charles Duff and his former wife Sandra Duff, both of Florida; four grandsons, Billy Allgeier and his fiancée Callie of Golts, Chris Allgeier and his wife Tracy of Golts and Shawn and David Duff of Florida; her former husband, Charles Duff; four great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, Del., where family and friends may call tonight from 7 to 9.

Mrs. Davis will be laid to rest beside her husband in Townsend Cemetery in Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Michelene T. Davis Memorial Fund, c/o Mercantile Eastern Shore Bank, P.O. Box 106, Galena, MD 21635-0106.
