DELAWARE CITY - The journey of Michael Wayne George of Delaware City, formerly of Odessa, came to an end Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and friends. After a long illness, his pain has finally been taken away forever. He was 43.

Born June 9, 1964, in Wilmington, he was the son of Helen (Johnson) George and the late James M. George Sr.

Mike enjoyed concerts, fishing, spending time at the beach and loved to just have fun. He was a great husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his father, James M. George Sr.; his mother-in-law, Leona Kos; his maternal grandparents, Edna and Frank Johnson; and his paternal grandparents, Lauretta and Robert George.

In addition to his mother, he leaves behind his wife, Tammi (Kos) George; two beautiful children, Richard and Megan; a sister, Karen Douty and her husband Bill; two brothers, James George and his wife Rae Lynn and Steve George and his wife Mary; a father-in-law, Richard Kos; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Bauers and her husband Mike, and Sandy Vincent and her husband Harry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to service. Michael requested that everyone wear casual and colorful clothing to his service.

A celebration of Michael's life will be 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the Blackbird Community Center, 144 Blackbird Forest Road, Townsend.

Interment will be private.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions can be made for Richard and Megan's trust fund, c/o Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Middletown, DE 19709-0126.
