Michael Robert Scher

MILFORD - Michael Robert Scher, of Milford, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at his home. He was 68. Michael was born on Aug. 20, 1941, in New York City, N.Y., son of the late Samuel Louis and Bess (Greengrass) Scher. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Scher worked for several years with Four Star Products in Vineland, N.J. After moving to Milford, he was employed as a production manager for Allen Family Foods where he remained until he retired from his position in 2003. Michael was an avid salt water fisherman. He enjoyed reading and loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ian E. Scher. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Rose Lee Scher; two daughters, Angela Marie LaRue and her husband Carl of Rogers, Ark., and Stacy Lynn Scher of Fayetteville, Ark.; a brother, David A. Scher and his wife Laurie of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Mona Ray Berman and her husband Joseph of San Francisco, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be 2 p.m., today, Aug. 1, 2010, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may greet the family one hour prior. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, National Park Service, National Capitol Parks Center, 900 Ohio Drive S.W., Washington, DC 20242.
