Wilson, Sr., 59 HARRINGTON - Michael Alex Wilson, Sr., 59, of Harrington, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 with family and close friends by his side. He was the son of the late, Donald R. and Mary Ann (Hickman) Wilson also of Harrington and brother of the late, Donald Vaughn Wilson of Dover. Mike graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1973 and moved out of the area to pursue a career in construction which led him to Wenatchee, Washington, for many years. Mike loved artifacts such as dinosaur bones and arrowheads and he also had an affinity for collecting old bottles that started in his teens. After coming back to Delaware in 2007, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and lovingly took care of his mother when she was in failing health. Mike is survived by his four children and ten grandchildren: Tanya Pratt of Woodside (husband Bob and their son); Kathleen Needham of Camden (husband Chris and three children); Michael Alex Wilson, Jr. of Grand Junction, Colorado (and his three children); and Nicolette Salaria of Townsend (husband Jai and their three children). He is also survived by his sister, Heidi (Wilson) Watkins of Harrington (husband Bobby and their two children). Many thanks to Mike's long-time friends Jym Reyna of Wenatchee, Washington, and Skip O'Neal of Frederica who helped with his care. Memorial services will be at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour before. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. Arrangements are by the Thomas E. Melvin and Son Funeral Home, visit our website at www.melvinfuneralhome.com for further information, leave a letter of condolence, or to send flowers.
