MILFORD - Melvin J. Swann, 78, of Milford, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he is the son of the late Louise Beuchert and Edward C. Swann. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Diana B. Swann. Mr. Swann served in the US Army as a Sergeant and was a Private in the Marines. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. He worked at various auto businesses throughout the East Coast the Mid Atlantic Toyota as a District Manager, Manlove Automotive of Georgetown, Oursman Chevrolet and Service Manager of Winner Ford. He is survived by seven children, Janet Osborne, Steven, Stuart and Jeffrey Swann, and Ellen Rice, Marianne Bennett and Lorraine Finch; and 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday Nov. 18, 2010, in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 N Front Street, Milford, where friends may call for 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
