CENTREVILLE, Md. - Mary Tucker Mullikin of Centreville, MD passed at her home on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years old. Born on January 27, 1922 in Chestertown, MD, she was the daughter of the late, Arthur Morgan Lusby and Mary Tucker Sutton. As a child she was a member of Shrewsbury Episcopal Church near Kennedyville, MD. She later joined St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Centreville, MD where she taught Sunday School. She was a 4-H club member as a youth and was honored to be selected as one of two ALL STARS from Maryland to attend the National Convention in 1940. After having children she was a leader of the "Sunshine 4-H Girls Club" around Centreville and encouraged her children to enjoy 4-H. She also enjoyed being a member of a Homemaker's Club in Centreville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph C. Mullikin , who died in 2008; a son-in-law, James Hauck and a granddaughter, Kimberly Paige Hauck. Mrs. Mullikin is survived by three children, Mary Tucker Hauck of Dover, DE, Joseph Arthur Mullikin and his wife, Linda of Centreville and Margaret Mullikin Moyer and her husband, Don of Ashville, NC; a brother, Morgan Lusby of Chestertown, MD and grandchildren, Christopher Hauck, Alison Yager, Kevin Hall, Kelly Martin and alsoValerie Kelly and Marcellus Allen. "Mary Tucker" as she was known, was hardworking and loved her husband and children very much. She will be dearly missed. God Bless and protect our Mother. Funeral services will be held at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Centreville, MD on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Friends and family can call at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A., Centreville, MD from 12-:30 – 1:30. Burial will be at Chesterfield Cemetery, Centreville, MD.
