DENTON, Md. - Mary Patricia Althoff of Denton died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, surrounded by her family in Ruxton Health of Denton, where she was treated with the utmost loving care. She was 72.
Born in Grasonville, Miss Althoff was the daughter of the late Charles Raymond Althoff and Margaret Louise Hess Althoff. She was a graduate of Stevensville High School, class of 1952. She had lived in Carmichael and came to Denton in 1982 where she lived with her sister, Margaret Jane Jarrell and her husband, Buddy.
Miss Althoff was a telephone operator for C&P Telephone Co. in Centreville. She then worked in Beulah Jump"s Dress Shop in Centreville. She was a member of the telephone company Pioneers. She had also worked for George Redman Interiors and then for Terri Price Interiors, both in Easton. She loved to crochet and give her work as gifts to family members. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her family was her life.
Miss Althoff is survived by one brother, Charles E. Althoff of Denton; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Anne Marie Vest, Rita C. Smith and Margaret Jane Jarrell.
A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Monday in the St. Peter"s Cemetery, Queenstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends to send memorial donations to the Caroline County Adult Day Care Center, P.O. Box 10, Denton, MD 21629.
