GREENWOOD - Mary Mullett Schrock went to her eternal home on Aug. 31, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born Nov. 16, 1934 in Thomas, Okla. Her family moved to Greenwood when she was 18. Mary was a talented seamstress, and later apprenticed as an upholsterer. She gained a reputation for her fine work and detail in restoring antiques. At the age of 21, Mary attended a Bible Institute in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
Mary married Eli Truman Schrock on May 27, 1961. Being the first couple to be married at Tressler Mennonite Church, Mary and Truman remained lifelong members. Together they purchased Beaverdam Farm, which they still live today. Truman and Mary shared the love of travel. Together over their 57 years, they would cover the entire United States, Canada and numerous islands. They built a winter home together in Arcadia, Fla. where they resided every winter for the past 30 years. They were longtime attenders of Pine Creek Mennonite Chapel.
Mary was known for her love of gardening. She had beautiful flower beds, grew vegetables, and maintained her own lawn. She made anyone that visited feel at home. Inside Mary's kitchen, you were sure to find a vase with fresh flowers from her garden, a pitcher of sweet iced tea, and a welcome seat at the table.
Awaiting Mary in heaven are her parents, Ben and Fannie Mullett; her oldest brother, Ernest; her dear sister, Verda (Robertson); and her beloved grandson, Anthony Levi Chupp.
Missing her while continuing on is her beloved husband of 57 years, Eli Truman Schrock; her four children and their spouses, Christine (Charles) Trivits, Lisa (David) Chupp, Eli (Judy) Schrock, and Sheila (Kevin) Lynch.
Thirteen remaining grandchildren: Kyle, Kevin and Skip Trivits, Amanda, Lindsey, Mary and Davie Chupp, Amelia, Emily and Eli Truman IV Schrock, Jessica Chisenhall, Brittany and Kevin Lynch.
Blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Daphne, Charles, Connor and Juliet Trivits, Adaline and Garrett (Chupp) Brittin, Eli Truman Schrock V, Julian (Schrock) Suarez, and Kynlie Lynch.
