Mary Miknevich

Mary Miknevich, 85

Mary Miknevich of Hockessin died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, in Christiana Care-Wilmington Hospital. She was 85.

Mrs. Miknevich was born May 21, 1921, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late John and Mary (Kensik) Kance.

She worked as an operator for various manufacturing plants for several years before retirement.

Mrs. Miknevich enjoyed reading her Bible, working in the yard and sweeping her driveway.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Miknevich, in 1978.

She is survived by a son, Jonathan Steila of Yorklyn, formerly of Smyrna; six grandchildren, Melody Steila, Jon Steila, Sunday Graham, Jeff Dassel, Brian Dassel and Shawn Dassel; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Christopher and Nicholas.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral chapel.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
