Mary M. Caputo

DOVER - Mary M. Caputo, age 94, passed away September 23, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 4, 1920 in Belleville, NJ to the late Giovanni and Victoria (Via) Pisapia. Mrs. Caputo and her husband Joseph had owned and operated Arial Delicatessen and later Cappy's Corner which introduced Dover to world of Pizza and Subs. She later worked as a Realtor and had also served as business manager for the office of the late Dr. Robert W. Kidd, III. Mary accomplished Gold Life Master of duplicate bridge. She loved doing cross word puzzles, gardening, and reading. She was a lifelong learner who earned her computer certification at age 85. Throughout her life Mrs. Caputo was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who especially enjoyed the time spent with her family. She was a kind and gentle woman who will be missed by the many lives she touched. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Joseph V. Caputo, Sr. who died in 1996. Mary is survived by her children; Karen V. Caputo Huenke and husband Charles, Jr. of Dover, DE, Rosemarie Caputo Caporaso of Middletown, DE, Janet M. Kidd of Wyoming, DE, Joseph V. Caputo, Jr. and wife Joan of Lewes, DE and Dr. Gregory M. Caputo and wife Leesa of Hummelstown, PA. She is also survived by eight loving grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at Holy Cross Church in Dover. Friends may call Friday eve. September 26, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover, DE. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary and Joseph Caputo Alzheimer's Fund, in care of Dr. Gregory M. Caputo, Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, PA 17033.
