HARTLY - Mary Jane Twilley was called to Heaven by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017. She passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Twilley was born Aug. 29, 1927, Greenwood, daughter of the late Thomas Cecil Swiggett and Sallie Ellen Passwaters.
Mrs. Twilley dedicated her life to Jesus Christ. She loved going to Calvary Assembly of God and was one of the longest serving members of the church. She participated in the Women's Ministries and Keenagers. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to bake, decorate cakes and watch her grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were attending yard sales and auctions; watching televised sermons, game shows and bowling; and beating everyone in Chinese Checkers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin "Jake" Twilley; son, William David Twilley; and siblings, Jennie Swiggett Banning, Wilson Swiggett, Kenneth Swiggett, Ethel Swiggett, Laura Swiggett Calhoun, and Delores Swiggett Roussell.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Bauer of Camden; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Ross Twilley of Dover; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Paul and Jo Twilley and Ben and Michele Twilley; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and John Kohout, and Sally and Chuck Wojcieszyn, all of Hartly; 11 grandchildren, Christina Mitchell (Jimmy), Kelly Lloyd (Bill), Charles "Buck" Dougherty, Ryan Dougherty, and Vance Dougherty, Stacy Sylvester (Troy), Jason Kohout (Erica), Erin Wojcieszyn, Holly Wojcieszyn, Julie Northrop, and Matthew Angisani, and 15 great-grandchildren, Jordan Dougherty and Jaden Hartnett; Zach Haight; Christopher, Madison, and Nathan Lloyd; PJ and Dawson Mitchell; Sierra, Ashlynn and Weston Sylvester; Riley and Trevor Kohout; and Erica and Derek Sbringlia; niece Kitsaa Roussell; and nephews, Norman and Roger Roussell. In addition, she is survived by her prayer warrior friends, and neighbors.
Services will be held 12 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10). A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and last until services begin at 12 p.m. Interment will be in the Sharon Hill Memorial Park.
