MILFORD - Mary Jane Mariner of Milford, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was 67. She was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Clendaniel Messick. She was a sales clerk for Leggetts and Happy Harry's for many years. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining at family dinners, sunbathing and was very involved with her granddaughter's sports activities. She was also a member of Lincoln U.M. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mariner in 1998 and a daughter, Kim Mariner. She is survived by her son, Chuck and his wife Brenda Mariner of Milford; three grandchildren, Nicole Mariner, Morgan Mariner and Meghan Mariner who was raised by Mrs. Mariner; three sisters, Ruth Ann Fitzgerald of Lincoln, Rose Warren and her husband Butch of Lincoln and Ethel Mae White and her husband Jim of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford. Burial was in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. Contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
