WYOMING - Mary Grace Tolson Ridgely, of Wyoming, formerly of Kent Island, died peacefully Friday, April 29, surrounded by family. She was 82. Born Nov. 2, 1928, in Centreville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Sudler Cockey Tolson and Ida Mae Bamberger. Mary grew up in Centreville and was a graduate of Centreville High School. She married James L. Ridgely III on Dec. 15, 1951, and they resided in Marling Farms, Chester, Md. Mary worked as an office manager for Lippincott Marine in Grasonville, Md., for 32 yrs. After she retired she enjoyed cross stitching, watching golf and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lot Ridgely III; and her brothers, Sudler Tolson, William Tolson, and James "Bunky" Tolson. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Ray Failing, and Geraldine Ridgely Dewey; husband Richard Dewey; and grandchildren, Katie Dewey, Brianne Dewey, Travis Dewey, Spencer Failing, and Alex Failing. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the Fellow, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, MD 21619, where family and friends may call 1 hour before from noon to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Stevensville Cemetery in Stevensville, Md.
