Mary Frances Steward

Mary Frances Steward, 84

GREENSBORO, Md. - Mary Frances Steward of Greensboro died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, in her home. She was 84.

Born in Tuckahoe Neck near Denton, Mrs. Steward was the daughter of the late Frederick Andrew Werner and Frances Elizabeth (Kreiger) Werner.

Her husband, Walter Benjamin Steward, died July 17, 1995.

Mrs. Steward was a graduate of Caroline High School in Denton.

She had been a homemaker all of her life.

She was a member of the Denton Church of the Brethren.

Mrs. Steward cooked and managed with her husband at Camp Mardela in Denton. She also managed the thrift store in Denton for many years.

Mrs. Steward is survived by three sons, Walter B. Steward Jr. of Mason, Mich., F. Henry Steward of Easton and G. Arthur Steward of Harrington, Del.; two brothers, F. Dennis Werner of Felton, Del., and A. Rex Werner of Denton; one sister, Patricia Hardee of Denton; and 11 grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Denton Cemetery.

There is no public viewing/visitation.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial donations sent to Camp Mardela, P.O. Box 460, Deep Shore Road, Denton, MD 21629.
