CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Mary Etta "Etsy" Workman, of Chestertown, died Feb. 20, 2009, in Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover, Del. She was 67. Mrs. Workman was born on May 29, 1941, daughter of the late Tom and Beulah "Tiny" Ransom Chance. She was raised in Galena and had lived in Smyrna, Del., before moving to Chestertown in 2006. She enjoyed working as a waitress and had owned Mary Etta's Family Restaurant in Smyrna for 10 years, known for serving muskrat. Etsy was currently working for the Sale Yard Café in Galena. She was preceded by her husband, Alton D. Workman in 2000. Mrs. Workman is survived by three children, William R. Husfelt Jr. and his wife Georgia of Smyrna, John F. Husfelt and his wife Anita of King, N.C., and Susan D. Hughes and her husband Mike of Dover; a brother, James T. "Jimmy" Chance and his wife Beverly of Galena; a sister, Betty Jane Schelts and husband Charles "Chummy" of Millington; a aunt, Shirley Bakeoven of Chestertown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday. Burial in Galena Cemetery.
