Mary Colleen (Ramey) Baylis, 73

SEAFORD - Mary Colleen (Ramey) Baylis of Seaford died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, in her home. She was 73.

Mrs. Baylis was born in Coeburn, Va., daughter of the late Mary Lucille Smith and Marvin Walter Ramey. She was raised by her grandmother.

She moved to Seaford in her teens and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Kathleen and Victor Stallard.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Baylis was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Seaford, the Acorn Club of Seaford, Seaford Historical Society, the Ladies Auxiliary, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Red Hat Society, Seaford Kiwanis Club and Sussex County Republican Committee.

She is survived by a son, Norman Franklin Baylis of Delmar; a daughter, Pamela Ellen Rhue of Blades; three grandchildren, Heidi Gilbert, Daniel Baylis and Shane McCarthy; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ethel B. Ellingsworth of Seaford; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King streets, Seaford.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The Rev. Ed Kuhling will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church, 22025 Atlanta Road, Seaford, DE 19973.
