Mary Catherine Breeding

Mary Catherine Breeding, 80 GREENSBORO, Md. - Mary Catherine Breeding, of Greensboro, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, in Memorial Hospital of Easton. She was 80. She was born on July 19, 1928, in Greensboro, to the late John F. and Ethel Tribbett Vonville. A lifetime resident of the area, Mrs. Breeding was a 1945 graduate of Greensboro High School. She assisted her husband Walter Breeding with their family business Breeding Plumbing and Heating until their retirement. Mrs. Breeding was an active member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Greensboro, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women's Association serving as their past-president and treasurer. She was a wonderful cook, lending her talents to help prepare dinners for the Greensboro Lions Club for many years. She loved gardening and canning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Walter Breeding Sr. in 1998; her son, George Breeding Jr. in 1948; her brothers, Charles Vonville, and Phillip Vonville; and her sister, Ruth Anna Callahan. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Andrew and Peg Breeding, and Kenneth and Brenda Breeding, both of Greensboro; a sister, Jeannette Newcomb of Millersville; three grandchildren, Matthew Breeding, Daniel Breeding, and Christy Breeding; and one great-grandson, Ryan Breeding. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown, Del.
